about me

Hello! My name is Melanie Whyte 👋 I’m a multi-faceted creative who splits her time between writing and interior design. I’m the Lifestyle & Relationships Editor at Betches, with work also featured in POPSUGAR, Refinery29, Real Simple, NPR and many others. I also craft content and engagement strategy for small businesses and corporate clients to scale their cultural impact. Whether it’s quippy newsletters, editorial content or copy that makes clients drool, check out words I wrote.

In the pandemic, I finally embraced my lifelong love of home curating and started Queer by Design to help clients design and style their space to showcase their unique and vibrant personalities. My interior design and decorating expertise have been featured in Coveteur, Apartment Therapy, Southern Living, Men’s Health Magazine, Spoak and other publications. If you’re dying to upgrade your rental but are too afraid to paint your walls, check out my design chops.✨

On a more personal level… I am a queer woman who follows every LGBTQ+ celebrity under the gaze of the paparazzi, who spends too much time in thrift stores, and is specifically obsessed with lyrical language that involves citrus. Example:

Cars the color of melons and tangerines sizzled in cul-de-sac driveways.

That being said, I’m available for freelance projects and open to new opportunities. Drop me a line if you’re interested in working together or want more juicy (or juice-related) quotes. For a more professional introduction, check out my LinkedIn or download my dazzling resume.
